OHAUS T72XW Indicator Gets Truck In/Out
OHAUS T72XW Indicator
OHAUS just released a new version of their popular T72XW indicator which now includes truck in/out capability. This is exciting news given the performance of the T72XW and heavy-capacity weighing capability.
One of the most notable features of OHAUS' T72XW indicator is the user-friendly operation. It is extremely easy to setup and use. The large graphic LCD display can be read easily from a distance thanks to the vibrant white backlight. On-screen prompts make it quick and simple to navigate through the menu. We had the opportunity to test the T72XW and were pleasantly surprised with the operation. The menu is simple, understandable and makes it easy to perform desired functions.
Another exciting feature is the housing. It is very sturdy, durable and has a flip-down front panel with clips that are reminiscent of the more expensive Mettler Toledo models. It is constructed of stainless steel and has an IP 66 ingress protection rating. The indicator can be used confidently in wet and dusty environments, typically associated with vehicle weighing applications.
The biggest news about this indicator is the recent update to include truck in/out functionality. This is especially convenient for agricultural, aggregate and chemical companies that provide bulk materials by the truckload. An added SD memory card expands data storage to retain customer data, weights and IDs. Up to this point, OHAUS indicators have been missing the truck in-out feature which limited them to heavy-capacity platform scales, tank and hopper scales and other industrial bases. True enough, the T72XW has always been able to connect to vehicle scales but the added in/out feature makes it an even better option for the application.
Let me start off by saying the T72XW is not a highly-customizable indicator like some of the Rice Lake and Mettler Toledo options. However, it isn't intended to be. OHAUS created an out-of-the-box indicator that packs serious performance and capability. True, it isn't as robust as the other brands mentioned before. BUT, it is a heavy-weight in the realm of plug-n-play indicators.

I've highlighted the truck in/out feature included with the newest version of the OHAUS T72XW but it was originally designed for a wide-variety of industrial uses, including heavy-capacity bulk weighing. It is a fantastic choice for manufacturing processes and counting applications where ease-of-use, efficiency and communication are key.
We recently sold this to a customer that was looking for an indicator capable of operating 10,000 lb floor scale in a wet high-traffic environment. They needed to communicate with a printer and create tickets with several key data points. The performance versus price of the T72WX compared to some other models made it a clear choice for their application. For their particular use, a customizable indicator wasn't necessary. However, entry level indicators just wouldn't stand up to the abuse and performance requirements. Given those challenges, we confidently recommended the T72XW and ultimately installed it for them. So far so good!
Overall, we are really impressed with the functionality and durability of the OHAUS T72XW. The added bonus of the truck in/out feature is fantastic. But through-and-through, this is a great choice for most industrial weighing applications. It's user-friendly, cost-effective and very capable.
